AHV = Old-age and survivors’ Insurance, 8.7% of the gross wage: social insurance that is intended to partially compensate for lost or reduced earnings due to old age or death.
IV = Invalidity insurance, 1.4% of the gross wage: social insurance intended to ensure their subsistence through integration measures or cash benefits when employees become disabled.
EO = Compensation for loss of earnings, 0.45% of the gross wage: social insurance intended to partially replace the loss of earnings resulting from military service, civilian service or civil defense, as well as maternity, paternity, adoption or care leave.
ALV = Unemployment insurance, 2.2% of the gross wage: social insurance to bridge unemployment and support reintegration into the labor market.
FAK = Family equalization fund, contributions vary from canton to canton: pays family allowances intended to partially compensate for the costs arising from the maintenance of children.
VK = Administrative costs, contributions vary from canton to canton: compensation offices levy a surcharge on AHV/IV/EO contributions to cover their administrative costs.
