The cleaning checklist: The perfect tool for you and your cleaner

When you clean your home yourself, you are very well aware of all the different areas in your apartment that need to be taken care of the most. For cleaners, it is not always that obvious. At least until now. By using our cleaning checklist, you can inform your cleaner in a very efficient and simple way about which tasks need to be carried out at what time and where.

Especially cleaning jobs require a high level of autonomy since they are often carried out in the absence of the employer.

When you let your cleaner know with a checklist about which tasks need to be done at what time and where in your home, you avoid misunderstandings. A cleaning checklist helps to overcome a key obstacle of communication – the language barrier.

Cleaning checklist in several languages

Due to years of experience in the field of registering, employing and insuring domestic helps correctly, we are aware of the fact that German is not the mother tongue of many cleaners. On top of that, there is a large English-speaking expat community in Switzerland, regularly employing German-speaking cleaners. This is why we provide you with cleaning checklists in many different languages. We have translated the most important vocabulary as well as the most common terms into German, French, Spanish and Portuguese. In addition to that, the contact details can be entered on the list in order to prevent certain uncertainties during work as well as providing fast assistance in case of an accident.

On our cleaning checklist, the apartment or house is divided into 5 different areas: the kitchen, the living room, the bathroom, the bedroom as well as the study room (upper column). Different cleaning tasks, such as hovering, doing the laundry, cleaning the windows etc., are listed on the left column. Additional tasks can be entered at the bottom as well. On top of that you can specify whether certain tasks will be carried out every time, every second or fourth time. Alternatively the exact date can be indicated as well. We recommend you to print the checklist, hang it up in a prominant place in the apartment and use a pencil to fill out the columns in order to be able to make certain changes.

Communication is key. By using our cleaning checklist you will be laying the foundation of a successful and professional working relationship.
