10. Cookies
Our Services use cookies and similar technologies (collectively “tools”), provided either by us or by third parties.
A cookie is a small text file stored by the browser on your device. Comparable technologies are web storage (local / session storage), fingerprints, tags or pixels. Most browsers are set by default to accept cookies and similar technologies. However, you can generally configure your browser to reject cookies or similar technologies, or to store them only with your prior consent. If you reject cookies or similar technologies, you may not be able to use all of our Services without difficulty.
The tools we use are listed below by category, with information in particular on the providers of the tools, the storage duration and their purpose. Insofar as personal data is transferred to third countries, we refer to point 6 of our Privacy Policy, including with regard to the associated risks.
10.1 Essential Tools: Chatbox
www.quitt.business uses a widget to display a chatbox for contacting us through other channels. The following cookies are set for this purpose:
- “activechatyWidgets” (1 day): serves the functionality of the website’s chatbox function.
- “chatyWidget_0” (7 days): serves the functionality of the website’s chatbox function.
10.2 Non-Essential Tools
10.2.1 Google Analytics 4
Our website uses the web analytics service Google Analytics 4, a service of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (“Google Analytics 4”). If you have not consented to the use of analytics tools, your data is not collected within the scope of Google Analytics 4.
Google Analytics 4 uses JavaScript and pixels to read information on your device and cookies to store information on your device. This serves to analyse your usage behaviour and to improve our website. The access data is compiled by Google on our behalf into pseudonymous usage profiles and transmitted to a Google server in the USA. We will process the information obtained in order to evaluate your use of the website and to compile analyses of website activity.
The data collected as part of the usage analysis by Google Analytics 4 is enriched with data from the Google Search Console and linked with data from Google Ads, in particular in order to measure the success of our advertising campaigns (known as conversions).
The following data may be processed by Google Analytics 4: IP address; user ID and device ID; referrer URL (previously visited page); pages viewed (date, time, URL, title, time spent); downloaded files; clicked links to other websites; achievement of certain goals (conversions); technical information (operating system; browser type, version and language; device type, brand, model and resolution); approximate location (country, region and, where applicable, city, based on the anonymised IP address).
This tool uses the following cookies:
- “_ga” (2 years), “_gid” (24 hours): recognition and distinction of visitors by means of a user ID.
- “ga[GA-ID]” (2 years): retention of the information of the current session.
If you would like to learn more about Google’s use of cookies, read the privacy policy here.
10.2.2 Google Ads
We use Google Ads in order to draw attention to our attractive offers on external websites by means of advertising material (so-called Google Ads). Google Ads allows us to display advertisements in the Google search engine or on third-party websites when the user enters certain search terms on Google (keyword targeting). Furthermore, targeted advertisements can be displayed based on the user data available at Google (e.g. location data and interests) (audience targeting). As the website operator, we can evaluate this data quantitatively, for example by analysing which search terms led to the display of our advertisements and how many advertisements led to corresponding clicks.
We also use the Google Ads conversion tracking function. In relation to the data of the advertising campaigns, we can determine how successful the individual advertising measures are. In doing so, we pursue the interest of showing you advertising that is of interest to you, of making our website more interesting for you and of achieving a fair calculation of advertising costs. For example, we can evaluate which buttons on our website were clicked how often and which products were viewed or purchased particularly frequently. This information is used to create conversion statistics. We learn the total number of users who clicked on our advertisements and which actions they carried out.
We use the remarketing function within the Google Ads service. The remarketing function allows us to present users of our website with interest-based advertisements on other websites within the Google advertising network (in Google Search or on YouTube, so-called “Google Ads”, or on other websites). For this purpose, the interaction of users on our website is analysed in order to be able to display targeted advertising to users on other sites even after they have visited our website. For this purpose, Google stores cookies on the devices of users who visit certain Google services or websites in the Google Display Network. These cookies are used to record the visits of these users. The cookies serve to uniquely identify a web browser on a specific device, not to identify a person.
We use the “Conversion Linker” of Google Ads on our website. Via the Google Conversion Linker, the information on the ad click in the URLs of the conversion page is automatically recorded and stored in dedicated cookies in your domain for websites. The data is then forwarded in URLs for AMP pages. We use Google Conversion Linker with other Google Marketing Platform products. In this way, unique IDs can also be stored in these cookies.
We also use the Enhanced Conversions function of Google Ads in order to optimise our advertising measures in the Google advertising network by better identifying, within the Google advertising network, groups of people who are highly likely to carry out conversion events on our website. For this purpose, the data (e.g. email addresses) is encrypted using a one-way hash algorithm SHA256. The hash values are then passed to Google and used to improve conversion measurement.
This tool uses the following cookies:
- “_gcl_au” (3 months): this is the first-party cookie for the “Conversion Linker” function. It records information about ad clicks and stores it in a first-party cookie so that conversions outside the landing page can be attributed.
- “_gcl_aw” (3 months): this cookie is set when a user reaches the website by clicking on a Google advertisement. It contains information about which advertisement was clicked, so that achieved successes such as orders or contact enquiries can be attributed to the advertisement.
- “NID” (6 months): contains a unique ID used by Google to remember your settings and other information, such as your preferred language (e.g. English).
- “IDE” (1 year): contains a randomly generated user ID. By means of this ID, Google can recognise the user across different websites and across domains and display personalised advertising.
If you would like to learn more about data processing by Google, read the privacy policy here.
10.2.3 Google Ad Manager
Our website uses Google Ad Manager, a service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (“Google Ad Manager”). This service is used to display Google ads on our website by setting cookies in the browser when a user visits a page that shows Google Marketing Platform advertising products and Google Ad Manager ads. Pages with Google Marketing Platform advertising products or Google Ad Manager ads contain ad tags that instruct the browser to request ad content from our servers. When the server delivers the ad content, it also sends a cookie. However, a page does not need to show Google Marketing Platform advertising products or Google Ad Manager ads for this to happen. It only needs to contain Google Marketing Platform advertising products or Google Ad Manager ad tags, which may instead load a click tracker or impression pixel. In this way, cookies are used to improve advertising (e.g. to target advertising to what is relevant to the user, to improve reporting on campaign performance and to avoid showing ads the user has already seen), as well as to serve, render and personalise ads. The cookies themselves do not contain any personally identifiable information. Depending on the settings of the publisher and the user, information associated with the cookies used in advertising may be added to the user’s Google account.
This tool uses the following cookies:
- “IDE” (13 months): recognition and distinction of visitors by means of a user ID, recording of interaction with advertising, serving of personalised advertising.
- “__gads” (13 months): display of personalised advertising on third-party sites.
- “DSID” (15 minutes): storage of Google’s setting for ad personalisation on third-party sites.
- “1P_JAR” (30 days): optimisation of personalised advertising, avoidance of repeatedly serving the same advertising.
- “NID” (6 months): settings and personalisation for Google services and other functions for advertising purposes, in particular the display of Google advertising in Google services.
If you would like to learn more about Google’s use of cookies, read the privacy policy here.
10.2.4 Adobe Typekit
For the uniform display of fonts, we use so-called web fonts provided by Adobe Systems Software Ireland Limited: 4-6 Riverwalk, City West Business Campus, Saggart, Dublin 24, Ireland. When a page is called up, your browser loads the required web fonts into your browser cache in order to display texts and fonts correctly. For this purpose, the browser you are using must establish a connection to Adobe’s servers. As a result, Adobe becomes aware that our website was accessed via your IP address.
If you would like to learn more about data processing by Adobe, read the privacy policy here.
10.2.5 Google Fonts
Our website uses Google Fonts, a service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (“Google Fonts”). Google Fonts allows us to integrate the display of external fonts into the design of our website and to display them correctly to you, which helps us to make the design of our website more user-friendly. Google Fonts does not set cookies, but when you visit one of our pages on which we integrate Google Fonts, Google is informed of which of our web pages you have visited. In addition, the IP address of the browser of the visitor’s device is stored by Google.
If you would like to learn more about data processing by Google, read the privacy policy here.
10.2.6 Google Tag Manager
Our website uses Google Tag Manager, a service of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (“Google Tag Manager”). We use the Tag Manager to manage the tools and external services we use on our website, and it enables the use of so-called tags. A tag is a code element stored in the source code of the website in order, for example, to control which page or service elements and tools are activated and loaded, and in what order. In some cases, the data is processed on a Google server in the USA.
If you would like to learn more about data processing by Google, read the privacy policy here.
10.2.7 LinkedIn Insights Tag
Our website uses the LinkedIn Insight Tag, a service of LinkedIn Ireland, Wilton Plaza, Wilton Place, Dublin 2, Ireland (“LinkedIn Insight Tag”). The LinkedIn Insight Tag is a JavaScript code that we embed in our website so that we can report on our advertising campaigns and understand how visitors use our website. This allows us to track conversions, retarget website visitors and display demographic information about LinkedIn members who visit our website. Cookies are set on visitors’ web browsers when they visit our website. In this way, we can determine which users are shown advertisements, in order to improve the results of marketing campaigns and to better represent the effectiveness of the advertisements used.
This tool uses the following cookies:
- “lidc” (1 day): this cookie ensures the selection of the data centre.
- “li_mc” (6 months): used as a temporary buffer to avoid database queries regarding a member’s consent to the use of non-necessary cookies, and used to have consent information on the client side in order to enforce consent on the client side.
- “li_gc” (6 months): used to store visitors’ consent to the use of cookies for non-essential purposes.
- “li_sugr” (90 days): this cookie is used to establish probabilistic matches of a user’s identity outside the designated countries.
- “bcookie” (1 year): this cookie is a browser identifier. It is used to uniquely identify devices accessing LinkedIn in order to detect abusive use of the platform.
- “bscookie” (1 year): this cookie remembers that a logged-in user has been verified by two-factor authentication and has logged in before.
- “UserMatchHistory” (30 days): this cookie is set for the ID synchronisation process. It stores the time of the last synchronisation in order to avoid frequently repeated synchronisation processes.
- “AnalyticsSyncHistory” (30 days): this cookie stores when a synchronisation with the “lms_analytics cookie” took place.
If you would like to learn more about LinkedIn’s use of cookies, read the privacy policy here.
10.2.8 Meta Pixel
Our website uses Meta Pixel, a service provided by Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, 4 Grand Canal Square, Grand Canal Harbour, Dublin 2, Ireland (“Meta Pixel”). Meta Pixel is a tool that enables us to measure the effectiveness of our advertising by understanding the actions of users on our website. It helps us to implement JavaScript code on our website in order to track and dynamically deliver content to website visitors, by setting tracking cookies that help us understand how our website is used, as well as advertising cookies so that we can reach customers in the future via Facebook ads. Website visitors are linked to their respective Facebook accounts and identified by means of the cookies set on their devices. The Meta Pixel tracks the URLs and domains visited as well as the devices used by website visitors.
We also use the Advanced Matching function of Meta Pixel in order to optimise our advertising measures in the Meta advertising network by better identifying, within the Meta advertising network, groups of people who are highly likely to carry out conversion events on our website. For this purpose, the data (e.g. email addresses) is encrypted using a one-way hash algorithm SHA256. The hash values are then passed to Meta and used to improve conversion measurement.
This tool uses the following cookies:
- “_fbp” (90 days): used by Meta to display a range of advertising products, for example real-time bids from third-party advertisers.
- “fr” (90 days): used by Meta to deliver advertisements and to measure and improve their relevance.

10.2.9 Microsoft Advertising
Our website uses Microsoft Advertising, a service of Microsoft Ireland Operations Limited, One Microsoft Place, South County Business Park, Leopardstown, Dublin 18, Ireland (“Microsoft”). Microsoft uses JavaScript, cookies and local storage to present you with advertisements relevant to you. The use of these technologies enables Microsoft and its partner websites to serve advertisements based on websites on the internet. Microsoft also processes the data to improve its own products and services, to create usage profiles and for advertising purposes. The data generated in this context may be transferred by Microsoft to a server in the USA for evaluation and stored there.
We also use the Enhanced Event Tracking function of Microsoft Advertising in order to optimise our advertising measures in the Microsoft advertising network by better identifying, within the Microsoft advertising network, groups of people who are highly likely to carry out conversion events on our website. For this purpose, the data (e.g. email addresses) is encrypted using a one-way hash algorithm SHA256. The hash values are then passed to Microsoft and used to improve conversion measurement.
